rossmanngroup.com →Founded by Louis Rossmann in 2008. We fix what others won't: component-level MacBook, iPhone & iPad repair and in-house data recovery with clear pricing and no diagnostic fees. We're an independent lab in Austin, TX for board-level repair and data recovery . If a free manufacturer program covers your issue, we'll tell you. If we're not the best fit, we'll say so. Rossmann Repair Group was founded in 2008 by Louis Rossmann after walking out of a dishonest repair shop. Starting with $250 in equipment in Midtown Manhattan, Louis performed repairs for live audiences while explaining technical details. A cable swap isn't "data recovery." We explain what we're doing and why. We charge for the job, not your "willingness to pay." Pricing is consistent and published. We also share knowledge freely. Teaching others how to repair improves the industry. Usually, yes; Macs that won't power, liquid damage, HDD/SSD, iPhone, Android, SD/microSD, NAS/RAID and more. No. Independence lets us do component-level work and recover data others can't. Yes. We accept mail-in devices from all 50 states and internationally. Free diagnostic evaluation on all data recovery jobs. We do all work in-house, stock donor parts, teach openly, and provide straightforward pricing with no hidden fees. No. Modern hard drive PCBs contain a ROM chip (typically the U12) storing adaptive parameters unique to the internal head assembly. Swapping a PCB without transferring that ROM chip with a hot-air rework station produces a drive that spins but clicks. If the original ROM is lost or damaged during a DIY attempt, the data becomes permanently inaccessible. We handle ROM transfers and head matching as part of our hard drive data recovery process. We never offer discounts for reviews. Our 4.9/5.0 average from 1,837 reviews comes from doing the job right.
