高分子（こうぶんし）または高分子化合物（こうぶんしかごうぶつ、英: macromolecule、giant molecule）とは、分子量が大きい分子である。国際純正・応用化学連合（IUPAC）の高分子命名法委員会では高分子macromoleculeを「分子量が大きい分子で、分子量が小さい分子から実質的または概念的に得られる単位の多数回の繰り返しで構成した構造」と定義し、ポリマー分子(英: polymer molecule)と同義であるとしている。また、「高分子から成る物質」としてポリマー（重合体、多量体、英: polymer）を定義している。すなわち、高分子は分子であり、ポリマーとは高分子の集合体としての物質を指す。日本の高分子学会もこの定義に従う。
