thumb| thumb|Magaliesberg near Olifantsnek Dam The Magaliesberg (historically also known as Macalisberg or Cashan Mountains) of northern South Africa, is a modest but well-defined mountain range composed mainly of quartzites. It rises at a point south of the Pilanesberg (and the Pilanesberg National Park) to form a curved prominence that intersects suburban Pretoria before it peters out some to the east, just south of Bronkhorstspruit. De Magaliesberg is een bergketen in Zuid-Afrika. De keten strekt zich uit van Pretoria in de provincie Gauteng tot voorbij Rustenburg in Noordwest. Het hoogste punt ligt bij Nooitgedacht en reikt tot 1853 meter. De bergketen steekt maar laag uit boven het Hoogveld van Zuid-Afrika dat ter plaatse op 1.500 meter ligt.
