==History== thumb|Factory in Frýdek-Místek Marlenka cake was introduced in the Czech Republic by Gevorg Avetisyan, an Armenian-born entrepreneur who moved to the country in 1995. In 2003, Avetisyan, along with his sister Hasmik, founded Marlenka International s.r.o. in Frýdek-Místek. The company name "Marlenka" is derived from the names of Avetisyan's mother and daughter.
