Jean Matelot Ferret was born in 1918 in Rouen, France. The youngest of three brothers, he did not wait for adulthood to go to Paris, instead he ran away from home to follow his older brothers. Pierre-Jean Matelo Ferret, plus connu sous le nom de Matelo Ferret, est un guitariste de jazz manouche, né le 1er décembre 1918 au Petit-Quevilly et mort le 24 janvier 1989.
