Mathematicism is 'the effort to employ the formal structure and rigorous method of mathematics as a model for the conduct of philosophy', or the epistemological view that reality is fundamentally mathematical. The term has been applied to a number of philosophers, including Pythagoras and René Descartes although the term was not used by themselves.

El matematicismo constituye cualquier opinión, punto de vista, escuela filosófica o filosofía que enuncia que todo puede ser descrito/definido/modelado en última instancia por matemáticas, o bien que el universo y la realidad (tanto material como mental/espiritual) son fundamentalmente/completamente/únicamente matemáticos, i.e. 'todo es matemática ' incluyendo las ideas de lógica, razón, mente, y espíritu.
