Herpetologie Mesoclemmys perplexa is een schildpad uit de familie slangenhalsschildpadden (Chelidae). De soort is pas voor het eerst beschreven in 2005 en heeft nog geen Nederlandse naam. De schildpad is endemisch in Brazilië.[1] De soort werd voor het eerst wetenschappelijk beschreven door Roger Bour en Hussam Zaher in 2005.
