โม่เหยียน

Mo Yan, born Guan Mo in 1955 in Gaomi, China, is a Chinese writer, novelist, teacher, and screenwriter. He writes in Mandarin and is a member of the Chinese Communist Party. His notable works include *Red Sorghum*, *The Republic of Wine*, *Life and Death Are Wearing Me Out*, and *Big Breasts and Wide Hips*. He was educated at the College of Military Culture at the PLA National Defense University and Beijing Normal University.

Mo Yan received the Nobel Prize in Literature and the Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize. He was influenced by William Faulkner and Gabriel García Márquez. His native language is Chinese, and his name in his native language is 莫言. He is recognized in the Nobel Literature collection.
