field of physics that deals with the structure and behavior of atomic nuclei

AI overview

Nuclear physics is the branch of science that studies how atomic nuclei are structured and how they behave. It matters because understanding nuclei helps us develop nuclear energy, medical treatments, and weapons technology, while also revealing fundamental truths about how matter works.
