Med nutation (från latin nutare, "nicka", "vackla") avses inom astronomin periodiska avvikelser i en himlakropps precession. Vanligen avses jordaxelns nutation, d.v.s. små avvikelser i dess riktning i förhållande till den långperiodiska riktningsändring som sker genom dess precession.
