Odesa (en ruso, Одéсса, AFI: [ɐˈdʲesə]; en ucraniano, Одéса, pronunciado [ɔˈd̪ɛsɐ]) es la tercera mayor ciudad de Ucrania y el centro administrativo de la óblast de Odesa con una población de 1 017 699 habitantes. La ciudad cuenta con el puerto comercial marítimo más grande de Ucrania, y su estilo arquitectónico, influido por el francés y el italiano, da un aire mediterráneo a la ciudad, que a menudo se denomina «la Perla del Mar Negro». Debajo de la ciudad hay una gran red de pasajes subterráneos y laberintos; las catacumbas de Odesa están entre las más extensas del mundo con una longitud de túneles de aproximadamente 2500 kilómetros. Los primeros asentamientos en la ciudad se establecieron aproximadamente entre del siglo VII a. C. y el siglo III a. C. por marineros de la antigua Grecia.
