==Synthesis and reactions== Together with other isomers, 4-nitrotoluene is prepared by nitration of toluene, commonly using titanium(IV) nitrate. It undergoes the reactions typical for nitrobenzene derivatives, e.g. hydrogenation gives p''-toluidine.
