Pál Járdányi (born in Budapest, 30 Jan. 1920; died there, 29 July 1966). Composer and music critic. At the Budapest Academy of Music he studied composition with Zoltán Kodály and Albert Siklos (1938-42); he was also a pupil at Budapest Univ. and received a doctorate in 1943, with a dissertation on Hungarian folklore.
