Patricia Neway (born September 30, 1919, in Brooklyn, New York) is an American operatic soprano and Broadway performer. She made her debut at Chautauqua in 1946, as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, and originated the role of the Mother Abbess in the original Broadway production of The Sound of Music (1959), and starred as Magda Sorel in Gian Carlo Menotti's Cold War-era opera The Consul (with Cornell MacNeil, 1950), which she recorded for Decca Records. <a href="https://www.last.fm/music/Patricia+N
