Pēteris Stučka

Pēteris Stučka was a male politician, writer, lawyer, and jurist born in the Livonia Governorate in 1865. He was educated at Riga State Gymnasium No.1 and Saint Petersburg State University. His professional career included work in Riga, Moscow, and Saint Petersburg, and he was employed by Lomonosov Moscow State University. He held citizenship in the Russian Empire, Latvia, and the Soviet Union. Stučka was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, the Communist Party of Latvia, and the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party. He also served on the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

He participated in the 6th Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party and the 7th, 8th, and 9th Congresses of the Russian Communist Party. Associated with the New Current movement, he received the Order of the Red Banner of Labour. He spoke and wrote in Latvian and Russian. His notable works include *Par padomju varu Latvijā, 1918.-1920*, *Klasovoe gosudarstvo i grazhdanskoe pravo*, *Kurs sovetskogo grazhdanskogo prava*, *Selected writings on Soviet law and Marxism*, and *Mazie dunduri*. Stučka died in Moscow in 1932 and is buried at the Kremlin Wall Necropolis.
