4.2In California, an old man grieves the loss of his wife, and dies the day after she is buried. However, the space soldier Eros and his mate Tanna use an electric device to resurrect them both, alongside the strong Inspector Clay, who was murdered by the alien-controlled dead couple. When the populations of Hollywood and Washington DC see flying saucers on the sky, a colonel, a police lieutenant, a commercial pilot, his wife and a policeman try to stop the aliens.

Plan 9 aus dem Weltall ist ein Spielfilm mit Horror- und Science-Fiction-Elementen von Edward D. Wood jr. aus dem Jahr 1959. In einer Leserumfrage des 1979 erschienenen Buches The Golden Turkey Awards wurde Plan 9 from Outer Space zum „schlechtesten US-Film aller Zeiten“ gewählt. Aufgrund seiner durchweg unfreiwilligen Komik in Dialog und Handlung erlangte Plan 9 from Outer Space den Status eines Kultfilmes. Er wird gelegentlich als humoristische Einlage auf Programmfilm-Festivals gezeigt. In seiner zwischenzeitlich großen Fangemeinde erfreut sich der Film auch heute noch, vor allem aufgrund des Aufspürens seiner zahlreichen Ungereimtheiten, großer Beliebtheit. Nach dem Film wurde auch das Computer-Betriebssystem Plan 9 benannt.
