Polyglott (Adjektiv, vom altgriechischen πολύγλωττος (polýglōttos) für mehrsprachig, das seinerseits auf πολυ (poly) für viel und γλῶττα (glōtta) für „Zunge, Sprache“ zurückgeht) nennt man eine Person, die viele Sprachen spricht (auch Multilinguale, Mehrsprachige). Es ist weder definiert, wie viele Sprachen man wie gut sprechen können muss, um polyglott genannt zu werden, noch ist der Grad der aktiven und passiven Beherrschung einer Sprache objektiv definiert. Viele dieser Punkte werden auch im Artikel Mehrsprachigkeit angesprochen.
