Poor cod are small fish, approximately 25 centimeters long. They live in small schools close to the sea floor or by wrecks along the coast. They closely resemble bib, but are more slender and have a black spot at the base of the pectoral fins. They eat mostly crustaceans as well as worms and small fish. Poor cod is not commercially interesting. They are thrown back into the water when caught or processed into fish meal.

Der Zwergdorsch (Trisopterus minutus) ist ein Meeresfisch aus der Familie der Dorsche (Gadidae). Er kommt im nordöstlichen Atlantik und einigen Nebenmeeren vor. Sein Verbreitungsgebiet reicht vom Trondheimfjord an der Küste Mittelnorwegens und von den Färöer-Inseln bis an die Küsten Portugals und Marokkos. Er kommt auch in der gesamten Nordsee, im Skagerrak und Kattegatt, rund um die Britischen Inseln und in weiten Teilen des Mittelmeers vor.
