thumb|Map of Reric as located near Strömkendorf Reric or Rerik was one of the Viking Age multi-ethnic Slavic-Scandinavian emporia on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea, located near Wismar in the present-day German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Reric was established probably in 735 shortly after Slavs of the Obodrite tribe had started to settle the region. At the turn of the 9th century, the citizens of Reric allied with Charlemagne, who used the port as part of a strategic trade route that would avoid areas of Saxon and Danish control. Reric ou Rerik foi uma cidade comercial multiétnica eslavo-escandinava da Era Viquingue situada na costa meridional do mar Báltico, próximo à atual Wismar, no estado alemão de Meclemburgo-Pomerânia Ocidental Foi fundada por volta do ano 700, quando eslavos da tribo obodrita povoaram a região. Na virada do século IX seus cidadãos se aliaram a Carlos Magno, que passou a usar o porto local como parte de uma rota comercial estratégica que evitava as áreas sob controle saxão e dano. Foi destruída em 808 pelo rei viquingue , quando seus comerciantes teriam sido deportados pelo rei para a cidade comercial viquingue de Hedeby (Haithabu), próximo ao atual Eslésvico.
