Severino Rangel de Carvalho, better known as 'Ratinho' (1896-1972), was a brazilian saxophonist and choro composer from Itabaiana, Paraíba. In his childhood, Ratinho already played at the municipal band of Itabaiana, and when he was 18 years old he moved to Recife, PE, when he started playing trumpet and saxophone at the local symphonic orchestra. He became famous mostly for his partnership with Jararaca, with whom he formed a humouristic duo that appeared for more than fifty years on brazilian
