Repulsion ist die älteste Grindcore-Band der USA. Die Band hat das erste Grindcore-Album aufgenommen, allerdings erst später offiziell veröffentlicht. Lediglich die britische Band Napalm Death ist noch zwei Jahre älter. Repulsion gelten außerdem als Wegbereiter für den späteren Deathgrind.
