Ronald Numbers

Ronald L. Numbers (1942–2023) was an American historian and university teacher specializing in the history of science. He was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and received the George Sarton Medal and a Guggenheim Fellowship. His professional career included positions at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and Andrews University.

Numbers was educated at Southern Adventist University, Florida State University, and the University of California, Berkeley. He authored 65 works, including *Prophetess of Health*, *Biology and Ideology from Descartes to Dawkins*, and *The Christian Vision : Man and Creation*. Other notable publications include *Science and medicine in the Old South* and *Galileo fue a la cárcel y otros mitos acerca de la ciencia y la religión*. He spoke English.
