Roots ist das sechste Studioalbum der brasilianischen Thrash-Metal-Band Sepultura. Es erschien am 19. Februar 1996 bei Roadrunner Records und war das letzte vor der Trennung von Sänger Max Cavalera Ende 1996. Neben brasilianischen Rhythmen und Perkussion wurde verstärkt auf progressive und Hardcore-Elemente zurückgegriffen. Das Album erhielt viele positive Rezensionen, stieß aber zum Teil auch auf Kritik. Es erreichte in mindestens sieben Ländern, darunter die USA und Großbritannien, Gold-Status. Die Platte zählt zu den 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, „1001 Alben, die man hören muss, bevor man stirbt“.
