Die Blätter sind eiförmig-elliptisch, länglich-elliptisch oder linear-elliptisch, sind aufsitzend oder besitzen nur kurze Blattstiele. Der Blattrand ist ganzrandig, buchtig-gezähnt, fiederlappig oder manchmal auch fiederspaltig. Generative Merkmale Die fast sitzenden oder an 1 bis 2 cm langen Blütenstielen befindlich Blüten stehen einzel oder in rispige Blütenständen. ==Taxonomy== The genus name Salpiglossis is a compound of the Greek words for "trumpet" σαλπινξ ( salpinx ) and "tongue" γλώσσα ( glossa ). The relatively large flowers of Salpiglossis sinuata ( the species in general cultivation ) are prettily veined and come in a pleasing range of colours. The species grows to an average height of 75 cm.
