Een samara (of gevleugeld nootje) is een gevleugelde dopvrucht die voorkomt bij bomen als de esdoorn Acer, de es Fraxinus en de iep Ulmus. De vrucht kan bestaan uit 1 (monosamara), 2 (disamara) of 3 zaden (trisamara). Het is een niet-openspringende, droge vrucht.
