La segunda guerra púnica es la más conocida de los enfrentamientos bélicos acontecidos en el marco de las guerras púnicas entre las dos potencias que entonces dominaban el Mediterráneo occidental: Roma y Cartago. La contienda se suele datar desde el año 218 a. C., fecha de la declaración de guerra de Roma tras la destrucción de Sagunto, hasta el 201 a. C. en el que Aníbal y Escipión el Africano acordaron las condiciones de la rendición de Cartago. Durante la segunda guerra púnica destacan las batallas de Cannas y Zama.
