Il secondo tempio di Gerusalemme (anche tempio di Erode o Secondo Tempio) è la ricostruzione del tempio di Salomone, distrutto dal babilonese Nabucodonosor II nel 586 a.C. Fu completato nel 515 a.C., dopo l'esilio babilonese, così come raccontato nel Libro di Esdra, e distrutto nel 70 d.C. dal generale romano Tito. Durante questo periodo esso fu il centro culturale e spirituale del Giudaismo ed il luogo dei sacrifici rituali. Erode il Grande, a partire dal 19 a.C., fece un ampliamento importante del Secondo Tempio; per questo motivo il Tempio di Gerusalemme, da quella data, viene anche chiamato Tempio di Erode.
