Shimi Tavori (In Hebrew: שימי תבורי), born Sheemshon Tawili (שמשון טווילי) on February 9, 1953, is an Israeli singer and one of the most influential figures in Mizrahi music and Israeli pop. Born in Ness Ziona, Israel, to a Yemenite Jewish family, he was the youngest of seven siblings. Tavori began his career performing in clubs and weddings before achieving national fame in the 1970s.
