Sightseers was selected to be screened in the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on 23 May 2012, where the lead animal actor, Banjo and Poppy, won the Palm Dog award. Was released in the United Kingdom on 30 November, by StudioCanal. The film received generally positive reviews from critics.
