Șoldănești () is a city in Moldova. It is the capital of Șoldănești District. Known as Chernenko during the communist era, the town regained its historical name in the early 1980s.
==Demographics== According to the 2014 census, the population of Șoldănești amounted to 5,883 inhabitants, a decrease compared to the previous census in 2004, when 6,304 inhabitants were registered. Of these, 2,799 were men and 3,084 were women.
