Szczawnica is a resort town situated at the base of the Pieniny mountain range, within Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. As of June 30, 2007, its population was 7,378.

Travel guide
Get in
Buses run from Kraków every two hours, taking 2 hr 30 min to Szczawnica. Usually a change in Nowy Targ will be necessary. From Nowy Targ buses cost approximately 8 zł one way.
Alternatively you can get by train to Nowy Sącz or Nowy Targ and then by bus to Szczawnica.
Do
Hiking. Mountain biking, horse riding. Skiing in winter. Fishing or kayaking on Dunajec river. Rafting the Dunajec Gorge. Chair-lift to Palenica mountain. 700 m long summer slide at Szafranówka mountain.
Sleep
Lots of places, it's a spa town.
