لای‌ماهی

The tench (*Tinca tinca*) is a species of fish belonging to the family Tincidae and the order Cypriniformes. It is classified within the class Teleostei and the phylum Chordata. The species was described by Linnaeus in 1758 and has an accepted taxonomic status. Its parent taxon is *Tinca*.

The tench inhabits both brackish and freshwater environments. According to the IUCN Red List, its conservation status is Least Concern, a designation recorded in 2024. The organism is also referred to by the common names lín obecný, zeelt, and tanche.
