O testículo é a gônada sexual masculina dos animais sexuados produzindo as células de fecundação chamadas de espermatozóides (os gâmetas masculinos). Nos mamíferos ocorre aos pares e são protegidos fora do corpo por uma bolsa chamada escroto. Podem também ficar no interior do corpo de animais (geralmente os répteis ou os marinhos). Têm função de glândula produzindo hormônios masculinos. Sua função é homóloga a dos ovários das fêmeas. Nos seres humanos, os testículos são suspensos pelos cordões espermáticos formados por vasos sanguíneos e linfáticos, nervos, músculo cremaster, epidídimo e canal deferente.
