In this loose adaptation of "Hamlet," illegitimate son Kôichi Nishi climbs to a high position within a Japanese corporation and marries the crippled daughter of company vice president Iwabuchi. At the reception, the wedding cake is a replica of their corporate headquarters, but an aspect of the design reminds the party of the hushed-up death of Nishi's father. It is then that Nishi unleashes his plan to avenge his father's death.

Warui yatsu hodo yoku nemuru (悪い奴ほどよく眠る ''Warui yatsu hodo yoku nemuru''?), titulada Los malos duermen bien en Latinoamérica y Los canallas duermen en paz en España, es una película de 1960 dirigida por el director japonés Akira Kurosawa. Fue la primera película producida bajo la compañía de producción independiente de Kurosawa. Participó en el 9° Festival Internacional de Cine de Berlín. Protagonizada por Toshirō Mifune se trata de una adaptación libre al Japón contemporáneo de la tragedia Hamlet escrita por William Shakespeare. Se la considera una crítica soterrada de la política, los sectores financieros y la corrupción corporativa.
