OverviewAI-generated
Time is a scalar quantity and independent variable, often represented by the symbols t and τ. It functions as a measurable set and is a subclass of both sequence and measurable set. As a component of spacetime, time is studied by the philosophy of space and time and general relativity. It includes parts such as time intervals and is distinct from the concept of time itself.
The subject is maintained by WikiProject Time, WikiProject Physics, WikiProject Astronomy, and WikiProject Philosophy. It appears in the Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary, Zedler, Großes vollständiges Universallexicon aller Wissenschaften und Künste, and the Encyclopædia Britannica 11th edition. Time is depicted by the work Truth unveiled by Time and is referenced by 2,043 other encyclopedia articles. It is also a topic on Stack Exchange and has a dedicated category on Commons.
