Known best as the powerpop band Cheap Trick's bassist. Petersson sings lead vocals on "I Know What I Want" from Cheap Trick's album "Dream Police" and on live versions of "Waitin' For The Man". He left Cheap Trick shortly after the recording of "All Shook Up", causing the band to lose momentum and direction for several years. During his time off from the band, he released the solo album Tom Peterson And Another Language. However, Petersson rejoined Cheap Trick in 1988 for the band's Lap of Luxu
