TUCOWS, which stands for "The Ultimate Collection Of Winsock Software", was founded in Flint, Michigan in 1993 as a shareware and freeware software download site. Its original logo was two cow heads, a play on the homophone "two cows". The company shuttered its downloads business in 2021.
