Ouranos (Oudgrieks: Οὐρανός) of Uranus (gelatiniseerd) is een figuur uit de Griekse mythologie. Hij is de personificatie van de hemel. Volgens Hesiodos hangt deze hemelkoepel zo hoog boven de aarde (Gaia) als de Tartaros (het diepste deel van de onderwereld) onder haar ligt. Een bronzen aambeeld zou tien dagen nodig hebben om vanaf Ouranos naar het aardoppervlak te vallen. Ouranos werd zelden afgebeeld als een persoon. De naam Ouranos wordt wel in verband gebracht met de godheid Varuna uit het hindoeïsme. Beide namen zouden komen van een Indo-Europese stam die 'bedekken' betekent.
