Vaals ( (info / uitleg)) (Limburgs: Vols) is een plaats en gemeente in het zuidoosten van de Nederlandse provincie Limburg. Vaals heeft een oppervlakte van 23,90 km² en een inwonertal van 10.113 (31 januari 2022, bron: CBS). Vaals is de gemeente met het hoogste percentage inwoners met een westerse migratieachtergrond, op 1 januari 2020 had 46,8% van de inwoners een westerse migratieachtergrond. Omdat Vaals een buurgemeente is van het Duitse Aken heeft in totaal 35,7% (1 januari 2020) van de inwoners een Duitse migratieachtergrond.
