==Synthesis and reactions== 2-Diphenylphosphinobenzaldehyde was first prepared by the reaction of chlorodiphenylphosphine with the Grignard reagent derived from the protected 2-bromobenzaldehyde, followed by deprotection. It can also be derived from (2-lithiophenyl)diphenylphosphine.
