Amir, born in Freiburg in 1975 (as child of a Palestinian father and Columbian mother), already learned to play the Arabian lute from his father when he was a child. He discovered the world of flamenco when he was a youth, and the teenager was soon discovered by the great master guitarist Pepe Justicia, who took him to Jerez to study with him. Amir John Haddad (Freiburg im Breisgau, 28 augustus 1975) is een Duitse flamencogitarist en multi-instrumentalist, gevestigd in Spanje sinds 1997. Hij was bijna tien jaar (1998-2007) de officiële oed-, bouzouki- en gitarist van Radio Tarifa en ontving in die rol een nominatie voor Best Folk Album bij de Latin Grammy Awards van 2004.
