Benzion Netanyahu

Benzion Netanyahu, born Benzion Milejkowski in 1910, was an Israeli historian, pedagogue, writer, and university teacher. He was educated at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and served as a university teacher at Cornell University and the University of Denver. His field of work included history, Jewish studies, and Zionism, with a specific interest in the Spanish Inquisition. He spoke Hebrew and English.

Netanyahu authored six works, including *The Marranos of Spain, from the late XIVth to the early XVth century, according to contemporary Hebrew sources*, *Los Origenes de La Inquisicion*, *The World history of the Jewish people*, *The Founding Fathers Of Zionism*, and *Don Isaac Abravanel*. He was the father of Benjamin Netanyahu, Jonathan Netanyahu, and Iddo Netanyahu, and the son of Nathan Mileikowsky. He held citizenship in the Russian Empire, the United States, and Israel. Netanyahu died in Jerusalem in 2012 and was buried at Har HaMenuchot.
