Boyko Borisov

Boyko Borissov is a Bulgarian politician, military officer, firefighter, and karateka. Born in Bankya in 1959, he holds the position of Prime Minister of Bulgaria. His political career includes membership in the National Movement for Stability and Progress, the Bulgarian Communist Party, and Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, as well as serving as an independent politician. He is also affiliated with the Office of the Prime Minister of Bulgaria.

In addition to his political roles, Borissov is a male athlete who plays association football as a forward for F.C. Vitosha Bistritsa. He speaks Bulgarian, which is also his native language, and follows Eastern Orthodoxy. His birth name is Boyko Metodiev Borisov, and he is known by nicknames such as Bate Boyko and Pumpkin. He has been a candidate in the 2026 Bulgarian parliamentary election.
