Cacaxtla ist eine archäologische Stätte im Süden des mexikanischen Bundesstaates Tlaxcala im Municipio Natívitas. Der Name ist aus dem Náhuatl-Wort cācāxtli plus -co (ein Lokativ-Suffix) abgeleitet und bedeutet so viel wie „Ort der Rückentrage“, womit die Körbe gemeint sind, die Händler zum Transport ihrer Waren benutzen. Cacaxtla ist berühmt wegen einiger gut erhaltener Wandmalereien aus der Zeit um 800 n. Chr.
