Campsis

It consists of two species, both of which are vigorous deciduous perennial climbers, clinging by aerial roots, and producing large trumpet-shaped flowers in the summer. They are reasonably hardy and do well with the support of a wall, preferring full sun.

凌霄属，属于紫葳科，只有两种:凌霄和厚萼凌霄，凌霄原生于中国，广泛分布在黄河和长江流域，岭南也有生长；厚萼凌霄原生于美洲，目前已被引种到世界各地。 凌霄属植物皆为攀缘藤本，叶为单数羽状复叶；花大，颜色鲜艳，花冠为漏斗状钟形；果实为蒴果。两种都是作为观赏花卉。凌霄的花和根可以作为中药。 凌霄该属是由葡萄牙植物学家若昂·德·洛雷罗（葡萄牙语：João de Loureiro，1717–1791）于1790年设立。
