Qipao (; ), also known as the Cheongsam (, ; ) or referred to as the mandarin gown, is a Chinese dress worn by women which takes inspiration from the , the ethnic clothing of the Manchu people. The cheongsam is most often seen as a longer, figure-fitting, one piece garment with a standing collar, an asymmetric, left-over-right () opening and two side slits, and embellished with Chinese frog fasteners on the lapel and the collar. Ципао (кит. упр. 旗袍, пиньинь qípáo) — это распространённое в Китае длинное женское платье, которое первоначально носили маньчжурские женщины. Современная его форма создана в 1920-х годах модельерами Шанхая. В самом Шанхае эта форма платья называется zǎnze или zansae (長衫) собственно длинная рубашка/платье, но северный вариант того же слова чаншань (chángshān) обозначает мужскую одежду. Через кантонское произношение чхёнсам (cheungsam) слово попало в английский (cheongsam).
