Also known as Etesians
The etesians ( or ; ; sometimes found in the Latin form etesiae), meltemia (; pl. of meltemi), or meltem (Turkish) are the strong, dry north winds of the Aegean Sea, which blow periodically from about mid-May to mid-September. The Etesian winds are a dominant weather influence in the Aegean Basin.
إيتزية (رياح) Etesians هي الرياح الشمالية الغربية التي تهب في فصل الصيف فوق بحر إيجة، ولقد كانت الرياح الأيتزية تعرف بهذا الاسم عند اليونان القدماء، وما زالت تعرف به حتى الآن، فالكلمة اليونانية هي إيتيسوس وتعني سنوياً، أي بمعنى أن هبوبها يتكرر سنوياً في فصل الصيف.
