Ein Expressionsvektor ist eine Nukleinsäure, die zur Herstellung von RNAs und durch RNA codierte rekombinante Proteine durch Überexpression verwendet wird. Expressionsvektoren gehören zu den Vektoren. Im Gegensatz zu Expressionsvektoren sind Klonierungsvektoren nicht für die Expression von Proteinen geeignet, sondern nur zur Klonierung.
