Francisco López Capillas (Mexico-Stad, 1605 - Puebla, 1674) was een Mexicaanse componist van Spaanse afkomst. Hij was assistent van een andere bekende componist die werkte in de Nieuwe Wereld, namelijk: .Hij was daar tevens organist. In 1648 ging hij naar Mexico Stad, om assistent te worden van, waarna hij deze in 1654 opvolgde als maestro en organist van de kathedraal.Er zijn acht missen en acht magnificats van hem bekend. Ook nog enkele losse stukken, zoals onder meer het melodieuze Alleluja. Dic nobis, Maria.

Francisco López Capillas (ca. 1615 – Jan. or Feb. 1673) was a Mexican composer born in Mexico City. He was chapelmaster of Mexico City Cathedral from 21 April 1654, until his death. He was the most prolific composer of Baroque masses in Mexico. Francisco López Capillas was the first Creole composer of significance and his music was so highly regarded that several volumes of his music were taken to Spain and widely disseminated.
