Gabriel José de la Concordia García Márquez (Spanish pronunciation: [ɡaˈβɾjel ɡaɾˈsia ˈmaɾkes] About this sound audio (help·info); born March 6, 1927) is a Colombian novelist, short-story writer, screenwriter, and journalist, known affectionately as Gabo throughout Latin America.
